Co-founder of Liveminds. I love to bring like-minded people together. Whether that's growing businesses, running online communities, staging events or captaining my village cricket team, nothing makes me happier than seeing people with a shared passion, coming together and making the most of it.

If you’re concerned about how to tackle the challenges of participant quality and professional participants come and talk to us at MRMW EU conference on 9 November. Tom Woodnutt, Feeling Mutual, and I will share what we’ve learned about the potential Facebook offers to recruit research participants based on real behaviour, worldwide.

Case Study: Behavioural Recruitment can refresh the research industry

In our recent industry survey, 97% of researchers agreed that high-quality recruitment is vital to good quality qualitative research. But the latest GRIT survey found that 47% of insights buyers and 42% of research providers thought that sample quality was getting worse.

Many researchers worry that their participants don’t closely match their specifications and that too few people are doing too much research because it raises questions about the validity of participants. Behavioural Recruitment addresses these issues by using Facebook’s unparalleled data on what people have actually done, rather than what they say they’ve done. This helps researchers to find authentic, representative participants who are fresh to research.

In the presentation, we’ll share what we've learned from using this approach to recruit thousands of fresh participants, in more than 65 countries, for qual, quant, online and face-to-face projects. We’ll also give a detailed explanation of the method including how the targeting functionality of Facebook advertising works in conjunction with screening and practical case studies with easyJet, The Box Plus Network, BBC News and Sony.

MRMW EU 2017

MRMW actively seeks out new technologies and is, therefore, the ideal event to showcase the next generation capabilities of Behavioural Recruitment. I’m looking forward to sharing our experiences, learning from others and meeting like-minded people. As an ageing dance music fanatic, I’m also very excited to explore Berlin's famous nightlife - see you there!

Where: Park Inn by Radisson Berlin, Main room

When: 9 November 2017, 3-3:30pm

This paper reveals Research on Recruitment 2018 findings showing how researchers feel about the current state of research participant recruitment. And how Facebook's hyper-targeted advertising finds representative consumers based on what they do, not just what they say.

We explain the Behavioural Recruitment process, outline the benefits and showcase both quant and qual case studies that used this powerful technology.
