Who are we?

Liveminds Limited is a UK-based supplier of technologies and services to the market research sector. Liveminds recruits members of the public on behalf of their clients to participate in their market research projects. They also provide technology and support services for clients running research projects. For this project, Liveminds is a Data Controller.

Who else is involved in this project?

This study is being conducted by health researchers at the Centre for Substance Use Research (CSUR) in partnership with Qualtrics Research Core, an internet survey panel company. Qualtrics will be creating and hosting the questionnaires you respond to in the project.

The study is sponsored by an e-cigarette manufacturer. Qualtrics will create a report for the project sponsor containing anonymised aggregated data collected in this study, they will not pass on your responses to the questionnaire.

What is the project about?

Learning more about the use of tobacco products by people of different ages in the

United States and how this changes over time. The answers that you provide will help to develop policies and programs that improve the health of Americans. If you feel uncomfortable about any of the questions, it’s OK to skip those questions. You won’t be asked to trial any products during the project.

Throughout the duration of this project you will be asked about 

• Any experiences you have had with tobacco products, like cigarettes and e-cigarettes.

• Your beliefs and opinions about different tobacco products.

The lawful basis we are using for processing personal data is legitimate interests. This covers your contact information but not your questionnaire responses.

Qualtrics are hosting the questionnaires, details of how they will process your personal data will be detailed  in the Qualtrics consent form at the start of the questionnaire.

What will happen to my personal data?

Once the project is complete, the personal data Liveminds has collected will be deleted within 6 months. The questionnaire response deletion is covered in the Qualtrics consent form.
